When my battery gets just about dead

my starter trys turning the truck over if the key is just in the on position. Why?

Sounds like you have a ground problem. Double check the ground connections, and make sure that you don't have oil all over the starter and solenoid...

when the voltage gets really low a solenoid will stick into a position and either not swicth or jam into position and have a hard time releasing.

my dump trailer with a isolated battery and 12v hydro pump will not change from up to down if the battery is dead enough.
