Master to Prop valve lines
Anyone know what size the lines are supposed to be that go between the master cylinder and proportioning valve? Truck in question is a 1968 with 1972 brakes. Here is what I have now, the drum side seems to be bigger than the disk side.
Here is a pic of what I have now.

Re: Master to Prop valve lines
Thats the way they are, drums need high volume/low pressure (large size lines) and the disk side needs low volume/high pressure (small lines)

Re: Master to Prop valve lines
Thanks, that was what I thinking, I am getting ready to rebuild all the brakes in the truck (Master Cyl, WHeel Cyl, Calipers, soft line and etc) and just wanted to see if I should look at replacing the hard lines as well.

Re: Master to Prop valve lines
Just a question - I knew this before doing my setup - but went ahead with the all 3/16" line to the prop valve anyhow.
Is this going to matter? My line to the prop valve is longer than most...(from there on it is 1/4" just like normal). My prop valve is on the frame, so I have a little more line there. I don't know if it is going to hurt anything, but just wondering if anyone might know for sure. DLB |
