Exhaust clearance solution!

Ran across this on Ebay on a 72 that was for sale. Creative way to protect exhaust or create sparks! Think there's a market for these!!! LOL!

Re: Exhaust clearance solution!

Looks more like a ski from a snowmobile to me. That thing is sitting pretty low for being a static drop.

Re: Exhaust clearance solution!

Maybe he's one of those ice truck drivers. Easier to replace than a crushed exhaust pipe I guess.

Re: Exhaust clearance solution!

That's a pretty good idea....gotta be cheaper to repair/replace that than the exhaust..... And it looks like it worked from the dent in the upper skid....

Re: Exhaust clearance solution!

The scrapping sound will still sound sick! That's why I'M ditching my HeadMan Headers and going to install a set of headers from EC. They make a set of headers for our trucks 67-72. These headers fit and are desgned for lowered trucks to prevent this very problem.

esll,

This is not about cost it's about doing it right. The last thing this guy needs is more stuff hanging even lower then his pipes are now. IMHO.

Ya know, if it came to that, I think I'd just raise the truck back up a little, LOL!

Re: Exhaust clearance solution!

A good bottoming out would now crunch the frame rather than the exhaust

I'd be paranoid about it hanging on something

Do you have a part #
My truck sits low and I don't like having to look at the exhaust system hanging below the frame.

Exactly my thought.Low is cool.Too low is stupid.I`ve never had an exhaust that hung below the frame or suspension.
I just had a vision of a truck stuck on a speed bump burning rubber,forward and reverse,and going nowhere.Badass motor,badass truck sittin`and smokin`going nowhere.
