If you aren't going to replace your grill (1972) don't read this.
As a "newbie" thought my slant on things might help others.
When mounting the insert, place a small socket under the square "posts". Use a small C-Clamp to pop them in - or just push until your thumbs bleed.
Had to cut off the lower lip on the outer grill piece on the passenger side so that it would fit into the opening.
After you drill out the rivets that hold the stock mounting plates (better have an old grill that has those) I then had to turn the original mounting holes into slots so they would allow the grill to push in far enough to be flush.
Instead of using the rivets right away, I first used some small machine screws to line things up.
Hope some of this makes sense. After market stuff is really an adventure. Looks cool when you are done, but getting there is a real pain in the rear bumper.
