3-speed To Auto Questions

Have a 72 long bed c-10, with a three speed on column. What columns will interchange without key switch in the column. No power steering. I would like to find something that column and linkage that will work. I was also wondering about drive shaft length. I will most likely run a th350 long tail shaft. Any suggestions or past problems would be helpful Thanks.

Re: 3-speed To Auto Questions

If you run the 350 turbo w/long shaft, you'll have to cut the drive shaft. Try to find a short tail shaft to put on the trans. I believe Chevy/GMC Vans to 1981 columns work but not the shifter linkage, and of course our year trucks, 67/72 auto columns. I went with a Lokar linkage setup.....

Re: 3-speed To Auto Questions

You will also have to have a crossmember for an auto.An auto column should be fairly easy to find, just be seated if you find a tilt.

BTW Where in NC are ya.
