Re: 72 GMC to Chevy

Your fenders on the GMC will be good. If you want a 67, you'll need to weld a patch in the side marker lights area. With a 68, the side markers remain. You'll need a 67-68 chevy or GMC hood, and the hood latch. The core support could be used, but you would need to cut the GMC headlight buckets out and weld in the single chevy style buckets ( I'd swap cores) You'll also need a grill and I think you'll have to find a used one as I don't think they are in repo form yet (should be soon I think).

Re: 72 GMC to Chevy

You can put the 67-68 hood on your 72 if you change the upper grille bar to 67-68. I dont know if the hood latch will work.

Re: 72 GMC to Chevy

Soooooo I'm going to resurrect a thread...

I just swapped my front end today, '72 GMC to '68 Chevy. I now don't know what to do to my headlight harness. Has anyone made a '72 harness work?

Re: 72 GMC to Chevy

just plug int eh hi/lo beam plug, and let the other plug hang. I ran mine like that for years when I put a 69 Chevy front clip on my old 69 GMC.
