Heater core hunt...for a reproduction!!
Searching for a heater core for my 71 with factory air. Does anyone manufacture a reproduction with the original 2-1/2 inch thick core? The replacements I've found so far are only 2 inch, is there a reason why? Mornings are starting to get real cool. (but not as cool as Canada!)

hehe yea it was a bit chilly the other morning, which reminded me about the crappy duct work I have in mine
I've installed a few of the repo heater cores and they dont seem to hinder the performance at all. The thing will still cook you out of the cab if left on. |

Just for the heck of it I asked at a local AutoZone for my '69 with factory air. They had one in stock. It was only $37.99. I latched on to that dude right away as I was planning on ordering one from one of the board vendors.

You could have your old one re-cored. Im too cheap to worry about things like that. I tossed in a $20 dollar unit from Autozone a few years ago.

I have one from a 72. If its the same you can have it for shipping cost. I'll post a pic when I get home tonight so you can have a look at it and let me know if it will work.
