Spare parts build almost done...

I guess this would be my build thread of my 70 c10.
This truck started out as a parts truck lwb. I took a few parts trucks and bought a couple things but mostly build out of spare parts.
A little after I got it when it was a cut up long bed.

got my vortec 350 and painted it grabber green.

Painted cluster to match engine.

Rebuild a th350 transmission

Cut front springs and put ford taurus wagon rear springs ( same size as 6" drop springs but 1/10 of the price if you can find them.

Got most of her put together about ready for paint
]
Painted a little more in the engine bay

them finished interior paint

painted rest of the truck and put on my $200 20's

Now I just have to buy a rear bumper, billet grill, steering wheel, and one piece windows.

Re: Spare parts build almost done...

I was going to go with red but my brother did that with his mini lead sled then I was gonna go silver but when i told my brother he did it on his 67 c10 so I went with a color that you don't really see.

Re: Spare parts build almost done...

Anytime you can build a swb fleetside truck out of spare parts is awesome!

Kind of odd seeing a 67 cab with a 71/72 clip.

Came out nice

So how much did you cut out of the front springs? How much did that net you on the front drop? What year taurus wagon for the rear springs? The truck is lookin good.

Re: Spare parts build almost done...

Yea I got the rims off evil bay for $200

I cut 2-3 coils off the front springs and cut the bump stops off and the rear springs are 99 for taurus station wagon springs ( non hefty coils)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-TRW...spagenameZWDVW

A mini lead sled is a 50's era smaller 2 door car with chop top slammed same looks as a merc but shorter wheel base. I'll get some pics next time I'm at my brothers shop.

Re: Spare parts build almost done...

I am just gonna mount some small round turn signals mounted to the rad support behind and a stainless steel billet grill.
