5.3L Exhaust
What are y'all running for exhaust on your 5.3's? I've got a 2000 Chevy 1500 Z71 Ext. cab ShortBox with the 5.3L/Auto. The stock muffler is due for replacement, plus it's way too quiet, I like to hear my engines. I'm looking for either a cat back system, or might go custom exhaust and use O2 sims and ditch the cats. Want something with a nice low rumble, but not too loud. Dual exits are a must. The truck is all stock except for a K&N filter and a Superchips programmer. Anyone got the Flowmaster system?

Re: 5.3L Exhaust
I've got a Single 3" inlet dual 2.5" outlet with dumps on my 4.8 and I think it sounds good. I've had alot of compliments on the sound.

Re: 5.3L Exhaust
What brand are the headers? Are you happy with them?

Re: 5.3L Exhaust
they are dean lapoles. he use to hand make them himself, but died a couple years back. best headers i've used imo. you might be able to find some if your lucky. if you want performance(more torque), use LT. stay away from shorties

Re: 5.3L Exhaust
I installed the flowmaster cat back single exhaust kit on my 04 Tahoe, nice sound. Very easy to install. 3" pipe from the cat to the big block muffler and 3" exit w/ 3.5" tip. I also installed a k&n intake kit. I'm planning on getting a programmer next.
