what is this?

I finally got the engine in and am now installing the painless harness that I got and am kinda stumped as to what this little silver thing is and will I still need it? Thanks(also includes is a pic of the motor-400 small block)

not horn relay was something to do with carberation and idle I think. This was on here a few weeks ago.

thats the tcs (transmission controlled spark) emissions junk. the previous owner cut that crap out, and i hear everyone else does too

and no it is not needed with the painless kit
i used the same kit in my truck and just finished installing one in a friends 70 chevelle and i getting ready to do it again in his other 70 chevelle

I was wondering what that was the other day, the pigtail coming out of it had been cut and I didn't have a clue. Don't need mine either, I'm gonna run a modern relay to mine.

Actually it's critical to the safe operation of your truck and isn't compatable with that engine.
So send me the engine and you can keep the silver thing.
