Re: Need some help

Are you referring to the switch that activates your break lights or is there actually a light switch for turning on a light when the e-brake is on???? Never heard of or seen one in a 67-72 pickup.....
Am I about to learn something again today????

Re: Need some help

There is a switch that activates a dash light that lets you know that the ebrake is on.

If I'm not mistaken they are fairly universial pin switches.

Re: Need some help

These trucks did not have a switch that lit when e-brake was on. The light on dash is lit when front or rear brakes fail. It works off the prop. valve (tan wire). I made my own using a brake light switch and a L-shaped bracket mounted on e-brake bracket so that the switch button would release when brake was pushed on. Ground one side of the switch and tie the other wire to the tan wire fron prop. valve. This will light the brake light on dash when your e-brake is on.

Are you sure? I have a harness connection for one but can't swear that there was a switch when we tore it apart. If you are sure I'll just cut the wires back tape them off and hide them under the dash. You know mine is a GMC don't know if that makes a differance.

Wonderful, and it still maintains it's original purpose as well?

Could be on a GMC. What color are the wires?

Re: Need some help

I'd have to go look to see what color they are......but I told my mechanic to go ahead and get rid of them and I'm sure he has done it already.
