stock MC bore/stroke? universal MC?
so, just curious -
1) Does anyone know the bore and stroke on our stock master cylinder (C10, half ton, 67-72)? 2) Has anyone used one of the Tilton or Wilwood universal master cylinders with a larger bore and smaller stroke? This weekend, I got the chance to 'feel' the difference between two of the exact same cars, one using an MC with 0.600" bore, and the other using a 0.750 bore, and man ... the latter of those two felt like it had power-assist brakes, rather than regular old drums (this was on a pair of BMW E30's used for track racing). Ive been kicking the idea around of going with a power setup on the truck, but if I can spend $75 on a large-bore MC instead and save all of that space in my engine compartment, then hell - I'll do it in a heartbeat. Has anyone out there done something like this? Does anyone know of a universal or large-bore MC that will bolt onto our firewall without modification?
