Shaving the drip rails questions

Hello everyone! I am finally back working on my truck I have started to shave the drip rails when i started looking at the inside of the door jamb. How are you guys cleaning up the edges after you weld. The drip rail connects to the inside of the door jamb and after you remove it, it leaves and extra 1/16-1/8" door gap. Does that make sence? Also does anyone have "progress" pics of shaving there drip rails. Thanks alot!

Josh

Re: Shaving the drip rails questions

I am interested in this also it would make a GR8 FAQ Tech.

I have seen some different ways but, personal experiences would be GR8.

Re: Shaving the drip rails questions

i was thinking about running some 1/8" rod around the door and over the windshield then making it seamless. it would get rid of the driprail and give it a nice radius all the way around and solve the door gap problem.

Lemon Drop http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=200082
End of page two and start of page 3 should give you idea. But you will be using flat bar, round rod and awhole lot of time to get it just right.
