200r4?

Anyone running a 200R4? I understand that this has an overdrive, but a much closer 2nd to 1st gear ratio compared to a 700R4.

Any thoughts?

Re: 200r4?

200 4R, not R4.
They are the same physical size of a short shaft 350, slide the cross member to the Th400 position, and it bolts right in, same yolk as a Th350 too.
Still need the sensitice TV cable and lock up harness/controller.
Some will tell you it is better than the 700 R4, others will not.
They both have strong points and weak points.

I know a lot of big HP turbo buick guys use them, so they can be made plenty strong.

Re: 200r4?

Since I have a 200 4R I agree with Andy. Even if I didn't I would agree. I think they have more pluses than the 700 R4.

Re: 200r4?

i ran one for a number of years that was built by www.fbperformance.com never had a problem with towing or hauling heavy loads long distances at high speeds it ran just fine and i ran it without the electric converter lockup too// i guess it went about 70k miles trouble free before i got rid of it and the guy that has it now in back of a bigblock in a suburban is still using it 3years later// generally with performance trannies you get what you pay for

Re: 200r4?

I frequent corvetteforumdotcom. Those guys use the 200 alot, as it is pretty much bolt in with no mods. Alot of the guys seem to like it.
