what control arm bushings to use
I am going to convert my 3/4 ton truck to a 1/2. It is a 1970 c20, I robbed lower contol arms, spindle/hubs and drag link of a 81. The nuts that hold the contol arm bushing are different. Th old ones are really big and the new ones are a normal size with a washer behind them. My qeustion is can I use a 81 bushing in my upper 70 control arm?

Re: what control arm bushings to use
I don't think the press-in bushings will work on the 70 arms, but I'm not 100%. Can you not get the UCA's from the 81?

I also have a 1970 c20 (3/4 ton) that I want to convert to a c10 (1/2)ton. can you give me some directions on what I need to do in the front? Also, what did you do about the rear axel?

Re: what control arm bushings to use
The '70 control arms have the threaded steel bushings, and the '81 uses the pressed in rubber ones. I would just use the ones from the '81, or if they aren't available get some from about '76 and newer. Just my .02
