Pix of a 292 with A/C and P/S?
A long story short, been gathering parts to restore my 67 SWB 4X4. It orginally came with a 292 and I am going back to a 292. The truck was built with many options including A/C.
I checked thru the factory assembly manual and found pix of ram style P/S. Found an old 67 step van with the P/S ram set up. Have all the A/C stuff but no 292 brackets. An old truck shop was being sold here and they had me clean out several buses and storage area's out. Found several boxes marked P/S 292 and A/C 292, they are filled with all sorts of brackets and pulleys. Sold the 292 engine I was going to use because it was a mexican stamped box. Can't match up the brackets to the assembly manual pix. Does anybody have or could take some pix of a 292 with A/C and P/S? Of course I would like it for a 67 ! lol but with some clear Pix I can sort out all the brackets and pulleys. Thanks, Steve SCJKOVACH@AOL.COM |

What's the chance that there were some power steering and alternator brackets for a 250 I6 in those parts boxes?

Here is a 76 292 from over on the 73-87 board, lots of good pix, maybe it'll help:

Ooops! Wrong pics. Those first two pics are 73+. Notice the wider spacing on the belts/pulleys.
Here is 72 & older. |

Re: Pix of a 292 with A/C and P/S?
Thanks, that helps for the P/S...........
as far as 250 stuff I have a few sets of those(A/C and P/S) It will be quite a while till I can get to them. As any one who has seen my shop, stuff is piled and piled on top in and around everywhere. Other than a few things I might be selling until I get 2 projects done that are in the shop, I am not even going to try to move stuff. The 68 wrecker and my 72 burb are first. try me next year on anything else. the 67 will be after that |

Must be a rare truck...dont see many 67 swb 4wds,and hardly any 67s with air conditioning.Add power steering to the equation and there is probably less than 10 trucks like that, that year!

Re: Pix of a 292 with A/C and P/S?
The A/c is factory but the P/S is something I am adding.
If you look in the factory assembly manual it shows P/S on a 4 wheel drive front axle. I got the truck out of West Virginia complete but rusty. Couldn't bring it straight home, so I parked it at a buddies service station for the week end. What a mistake..........a few things were stripped off of it. Been trying to piece it back together on a budget. have all the sheet metal except a perfect bed floor. Been working on A/C and P/S brackets and a few small odds and ends. Was going to keep a V-8 in it, would have been a lot easier. |

Re: Pix of a 292 with A/C and P/S?
PICKMUP is completely right about the year brackets. If you use the newer ones they will make contact on the manifold and stat housing before bolting up correctly. Hard to finddddddd
