My painfully slow '72 build thread...

Well I've had my '72 lwb c/10 for over a month now and it's been hard finding time to do much of anything on it after the 50-60 hours a week I put in at work, hence the title of my very first build thread. The guy I bought it from had started a restoration on it back in '02 which basically was just starting to strip it down and have some body work done but he gave up on it fairly quickly. He had some friend of his doing the body work and he was far from a professional, luckily he didn't get far past sanding things down, the engine did receive a rebuild in '02 with a few mild upgrades in cam, intake, carb. The truck sat in his garage for the next few years and thanks to him moving into a condo I managed to snag the truck for $700.

I don't have much to show so far but here's what I'm starting with....

350/t350 with posi rear and 3.73 gears out back. cab has usual rust in rockers and corners but nothing terrible and the fenders, hood, grill, front bumper all pretty solid. Only thing missing is the bed, the truck started out as a farm truck hauling bales so the box was trashed years ago.

Here's all I've managed so far (limited tools and decent work space)....basically just tearing her down, took the cab off (kinda) last weekend when I had some manpower in the form of my brothers who I had to buy beer for first. Started stripping the engine a bit and it will be coming out soon to be cleaned up and repainted.

Started testing out the degreaser on the tranny in this next pic.

As I mentioned I have a crappy work space so the cab is sitting here untill I figure something else out.

That's it so far!! Plans for her include a 4/6 drop, shaving all the trim, blasting and por15 the frame, sticking with the 350 for now but wouldn't mind a 383 in the future.
