ECE trans crossmember: exhaust clearance?

Anyone using the ECE trans crossmember?

I'm looking at replacing my old custom exhaust with something very simple, but the collectors from the Hookers are going to require some interesting bends unless I can get a bit more exhaust clearance around the trans crossmember. The ECE looks like it fits the bill, but I think I've seen some other tube crossmembers that offer even more clearance.

If the picture of the ECE crossmember (below) is upside-down, then it looks like it has great clearance; if not - then it looks like it's actually worse than the factory one.

Advice please - pictures are always great

It's right side up. Jegs has a kit for 2.25, 2.5 & 3 in. tube that should put it over the xmember.

Hmm...might look for a different xmember then. The pipes look too long at first glance.

should or does (i.e., you've installed it?)

I haven't installed either. On my son's truck I am trying headers from a 69 camaro and $7 for material to make a crossmember. Rectangular tubing but on the same principle as what Rokcrln used on Slow Build.

We also got a Lokar shift cable to eliminate the linkage on the driver's side.
