2wd to 4wd 70 Chevy C30 frame
Ok, I've done a fair bit of research.
I have access to two 4wd frames: One is a 72 K20... the other is a 91 K5. Are the front spring hangers any different between the two? I plan to use a set of 4wd hangers on the C30 chassis: the question is, which ones? 91 K5 or 72 K20? Last edited by FormerMember; 07-02-2007 at 05:28 PM. |

The K5 is IFS isn't it? If so, then I would say the lack of front hangers would be a bit different than the '72.

The '91 probably has wider springs than the '71, otherwise the front hangers will be very similar. The '91 also uses longer front springs so the rear hanger and shackle on the front spring will be farther back than on the '71.

I decided to go with one of these:
This allows me to run a longer spring that will provide a better ride with 4" of lift. |

FGB52 = First Gen Beyond 52's It's easier than doing it myself or converting K20 brackets to fit the 1 ton frame. a 52" spring's going to be a better way to go on this rig. Quote:
71 and earlier springs are a half inch narrower, that I can tell? Last edited by FormerMember; 07-04-2007 at 05:00 PM. |

That's an impressive spring hanger!
