Throttle cable on 67?
Any way to hook up a throttle cable on a 67 besides switching to a 72 pedal assembly?

Re: Throttle cable on 67?
Slammed!!! sorry had to say it. If its a cable, you could make one like they do for bikes. I know mine is a 72 but my buds 67 had that done and it worked until we took his whole truck apart and now we are rebuilding it. I didnt see much difference in our set ups. His might of been rigged like half of the stuff that was already on his truck when he got it.---Andy

Re: Throttle cable on 67?
After the day I've had I just couldn't do it ... but glad someone else was thinking the same thing
Seriously, cut the rod under the hood but leave the part that pivots in the plastic housing. Rotate it where the hole points at the dash and weld to the rod inside the cab. You will have to separate from the plastic and maybe bend it to get it parallel with the firewall when the pedal is all the way up (decelerated) then reassemble. The universal kits just require a hole in the dash and a hole in the pedal rod. The spectre kit even had a clevis for a non stock pedal. You might not even need to rotate the rod and can leave the hole perpendicular to the firewall. Or just buy an aftermarket Lokar pedal because now I've confused you into a migraine. |
