Another temp gauge question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hey gurus, I'm having problems with my temp gauge, and I've searched the forums to no avail. I have also looked at wiring diagrams trying to decipher them. Basically, I have a new sending unit, and a new dash. The wire in the dash cluster plugin for the sending unit shows no resistance from under the hood to the plugin (that's expected, right?).

The question is what about the other side of the gauge? It appears that in tracing the printed circuit board, the voltage side is common to the Fuel Gauge and brake warning light feed. This wire has no voltage on it, which makes me think it is my culprit, but I don't know where it goes on the other end. Anyone know?

Have you grounded the green wire off the sending unit to see if the gauge moves? To see if that circuit is powered, turn on switch and remove tan wire off prop. valve and ground it . Brake light should on dash should come on. If not , check your fuse.

Grounded the prop. valve wire, and no brake light. Also checked the fuses and all are good. Any other suggestions?

Next take a test light and check to see if you are getting power to that fuse.
