Question 4X4 Front Bumper Brackets

Are the 67-72 4X4 front bumper brackets all the same?
Thanks Willis

Re: 4X4 Front Bumper Brackets

I'm not far from you....

do you mean the same compared to 2WD? I believe that they are all pretty close, it's the rear SWB with leafs that are different... although I am using 2WD's on mine...

LMC has them listed for 2WD and 4WD and broken up from 67-70 and 71-72.

truck shop has them different too... I don't know what the big difference is though..

Re: 4X4 Front Bumper Brackets

I think 2WD mount futher front on the frame than 4X4 because of the spring hanger. I think 71-72 are different because of the light in the bumper.
Thanks Willis

Re: 4X4 Front Bumper Brackets

4wd brackets are different from 2wd no matter what year because of the leaf spring front axle.. 71-72 are different from 69-70. GMC are different from Chevy at least for 71-72.

Re: 4X4 Front Bumper Brackets

If you have a set of 71-72 4x4 front bumper brackets that you can't use I maybe interested in them.

You have a 70 & 72 4X4, right. Does the 70 have the stamped (like the 72) or cast front hangers? Are the outter front bumper holes at diffrent locations between the 70 & 72? I should have an extra set when I get this all figured out.
Thanks Willis

Re: 4X4 Front Bumper Brackets

Willis

I can't answer your ?'s about the 70 bumper brackets, the truck had home made bumpers on it when I bought it, and I just sold it about a week ago. Sorry !!! The 71-72 brackets I believe are longer than the 70's and have a bumped out area to clear the directional lights in the bumper.
Just let me know about the 71-72 brackets when you know what's up.

Classic Heartbeat has them...$65 for the 4wd 71-72 outer brackets and also the "L" shaped ones for the top.
