C-Notch and Adjustable Rear Panhard Arm Question??

I was wondering how low you can lower a 71 Truck with coil springs down before you have to install a C-Notch or an adjustable panhard rod? I was getting ready to order some lowering parts and didn't want to cut up my freshly coated frame if I didn't have to!

Thanks!!

With about 5 1/2" drop I needed the adjustable pan hard bar. No C-notch, but I did cut an inch or more from the rubber bumpers so it won't be hitting them as quickly.
