Custom AutoSound

I have a less then 2 year old USA 6 stereo. It was repaired, under warranty, about 9 months ago due to the L/R fader not working. The unit is not stellar by any means however it fits the factory position and has RCA outs for an amp so that alone makes it adequate. Several days ago the LED display stopped working, green back light glows but no LED digits and no tuner function, it won't pick up any station. I fiddled with it for over two hours checking the ground, antenna, fuses and wiring in general, to no avail. Anyone else have this problem? I have apprehensions about sending it back to be repaired as it is no longer under warranty. Where do I find a suitable replacement made by a different manufacture or is custom auto sound the only game in town? My kingdom for any of the 1980's stereos that I gave away or tossed out 20 years ago.

Re: Custom AutoSound

You can find old Alpine, Pioneer, and others on E-bay. Otherwise, Custom Autosound is the only game in town. I have one and the FM stopped working. As you said, luckily they have RCA jacks and I have my XM hardwired.

Re: Custom AutoSound

i had one a few years ago after 6months the cassette player locked up and needed factory service // was never really impressed with the sound quality and the buttons were so damn small that i had to pull off the road to do any tuning changes given the same choice in the future i'll stick with the original am unit and get a nice pair of glasspacks to listen to for alot less money
