Trying to get all info on putting a np205 behind a 700r4 I have read that you have to either change output shaft on tran or shorten it by 3/4". Use an adapter for th350 then good to go Anyone have more info? Thanks in advance.........Rick

Re: 700R4/np205 setup
You can use the stock TH350 adapter, but you have to run a shortened output shaft in the tranny or build a spacer to take up the difference.

Re: 700R4/np205 setup
Thanks for info. Advance adapter has shortened out put shaft. I have th350 adapter but the np 205 was out of 4-speed. AA also has coupler to go to 10 spline goes inside th350 adapter. That setup is $276. It's $172.50 just for the output shaft. I don't think I could find input for 205 27 spline for less than that. Plus I would have to swap out. Let you know. By the way my truck is '70 K10 shortbed fleetside.Fac AC PS 6cyl ........Rick

Re: 700R4/np205 setup
If you go all gm parts you'll need an adapter from a TH350, the input shaft for a np205 that was set-up for a TH350 and the short trany out put shaft from AA. or find a complete NP205 that is from a TH350 set-up. ( 27 spline )
