Well you think it looks better?

This is what 6 or 7 hours of buffing does to a abused paint job.Name: kade 132.jpg

Wow, it doesn't even look like the same truck. I need to try this on my '67, it looks a lot like that first photo.

Re: Well you think it looks better?

Looks good but never had any luck with one staying that way after being that bad. I would have left the patina myself. Looks like a super clean truck.

Re: Well you think it looks better?

Thanks for all the thumbs up, I worked my ass off on it today. I guess I will have to keep it waxed so it doesn't end up in that shape anytime soon.

Just out of pure curiousity what products and steps did you take to get it to this point?

I used 3m rubbing compound in a quart black bottle from the parts store. I used a white buffing pad on the first go around and a yellow one on the second on a electric buffer. I also used my CP mini air buffer with the same buffing pads for the smaller areas. I would probably look better if I went back over it with a foam pad and some glaze. I am happy with the results though and I am tired of buffing for a day or two.

Very nice! I would try mine, but it needs some sort of paint first.
