WTB - 3 speed manual overdrive
Looking for a manual 3 speed overdrive transmission for my '67 short step. Haven't seen many around and would prefer a fully synchronized but might have to take what I can get.
Thanks Shawn

Re: WTB - 3 speed manual overdrive
What would be the model number for one of these. And what years would they have been produced?

Re: WTB - 3 speed manual overdrive
I may be getting a complete system out of a 66 Chev PU. I'm trying to get it tested before I buy it.

Re: WTB - 3 speed manual overdrive
So, no one got one for sale? I just happened to see one on ebay, but was too late to bid. Any comments on quality, performance, or reliability? I'm only running an L6 and won't be towing anything heavier than a crotch-rocket.
Thanks Shawn

Re: WTB - 3 speed manual overdrive
i used mine a few years ago in a 56 chevy belair....
it worked fine..... as i said its fully syc. you basically have 6 gears with the 3 speed tranny.. there is a low and high to each gear...... start off in the low side... let off the gas..and it changes to the high side of 1st gear..... etc....(this is with the pull cable engaged)..... i think its very dependable...

Re: WTB - 3 speed manual overdrive
Cool, didn't realize that it was a separate high/low type... Is it a manual control or electrical?
Thanks!

Re: WTB - 3 speed manual overdrive
I've been looking for one for a couple years now. I would certainly be interested if another one turns up!

Re: WTB - 3 speed manual overdrive
Both electric and manual... the manual pulll handle mounts under the dash(much like the side floor vent pull handles).. the pull handle engages or dis-engages the O/D.. the electrical is hooked to the carb linkage...and if i remember correctly to one side of the coil...
