WTB: 48-52 Chassis

Looking for a stock, unmolested chassis or just the frame is ok too. Prefer a 1/2 ton chassis for a short box. GMC would even be better! And if you lived in Michigan, it would be fantastic!!

I might even be interested in a parts truck...

Lemme know what you have. Thanks, Pat

Re: WTB: 48-52 Chassis

I have a complete 50 GMC Chassis including the GMC motor in Oregon. It is currently under my burb. This was an ambulance and is so rust free I have seen paint still on the frame in spots! Check out the hubcaps! It still has the spare. It will come with all of the leftover parts. I am putting the body on a late model GMC Envoy. I plan to use the floor, and all from the Envoy and just attach the shell to it.

Re: WTB: 48-52 Chassis

thanks to everybody who replied. i did score a 3/4 ton frame that i'm going to grab the front chassis from and graft onto my original chassis. however, i am still missing the rear most brace, which is different between 1/2 tons and 3/4 tons...learn something new everyday!

here's a chassis pic that i "borrowed" from another thread that shows the brace that i need. again, i need the rear brace that is closest to you in the pic. thanks!

Re: WTB: 48-52 Chassis

And move the new box tubing to the rear so you have enough room to re locate the new fule tank!!

Re: WTB: 48-52 Chassis

That's certainly an option and is what is there currently. Was just trying to get the frame back to original condition, as it was when I previously owned it. I know "original" is an ugly word to hot rodders!

Re: WTB: 48-52 Chassis

I will look in the scrap pile and see if I still have the one I removed from my chassis.
