I6 200r 4x4
Longhornman can this be done? I have a 71 4x4 running gear with a 4 sp tranny. Is it feasible to put a 292 six with a 200r to the transfer case in this frame?

Re: I6 200r 4x4
I don't know 4X4 stuff...
the 292 can be bolted to the 200 4R no problem. if it's a divorced X-fer, then yeah. If it is not a divorced unit, then I have no idea. The tail shaft on a 4X4 tranny is nothing like a 2 wheel drive unit. i don't know if the 200 4R was ever installed in a 4X4, honestly i doubt it was. So unless you have a divorced X-fer, I'll say no, at least no just a nuts and bolts set up... maybe with some work, or aftermarket parts. 4X4 guys, please chime in. |

Re: I6 200r 4x4
no you cant use 2004R in 4X4applications because it doesnt have a removable tailshaft like the other GMtrannies
