If I was to buy a chrome bumper from one of the dealers on the board would it bolt up were my bumper is now or would I have to buy bumper brackets?

Depends on what you have now. I had a generic aftermarket step bumper on my 69 Fleetside and replaced it with a new factory-style bumper. It came with a kit that included 4 brackets, license plate frame, lamp socket, and all the bolts.

Just a tip, you might want to get the license plate bucket from your local junkyard and clean it up and use that instead of buying one. I picked mine up for 2 bux off of a Van, they used those buckets on ALOT of different GM's
