stepside to fleetside bed swap

I can't find a tech article on swapping a stepside bed for a fleetside (shortbed). Do they bolt right on or is there any fabrication that you need to do? I'm thinking about buying a stepside and swapping out the bed, because I can't find a decent fleetside.

That's what I thougt, but I wasn't sure. Did you have to drill any new holes or anything?

Re: stepside to fleetside bed swap

they mount the same, smae holes and everything.
Make sure your fleet bed has the tail light harness in it. It'll plug in the same way too.
Your short step is worth some money... the further east you could get it, the more it is worth. I've seen real nice short step beds go will over 1000 bucks here.
