Juicy truck !! It sits and looks like it should. I too am very interested in how you did the gas filler . I have an ECE tank sitting in the garage since 2003 and am ready to try and install it myself after having been quoted 1000/1500 over the years to have it done by different shops. I know there is a FAQ on installing a filler door on a stepside fender but havent seen one on a fleetside.

Re: Father/son pics part 2

that blue looks totally killer. Sweet job.
On the fillers in the side marker, do you have any problems when filling, like having to pump slow or anything, or is it simply stick it in and hold the handle wide open?

Not sure of what color the blue is,he just sat outside at the painters with about 7 chip books & thumbed through until he found one he liked.

Re: Father/son pics part 2

Already gone & longhorn man.
The filler was a pain in the rear but worth it,if only for the fact that when I was driving it the other day & was getting gas a guy kept looking my way & was staring at it with a look kinda like "I'm not sure you usually fill them through the light" As far as taking gas,we relocated the fill neck on the tank to give it a straighter shot & made sure that the vent tube was up high so gas would not get into it.So in answer to your question, yes, you can put the nozzle in & let er rip wide open.I have more pics of the tank if you need them. The tank is just a counterpart tank kit from Wes @ classic heartbeat.
Here's a link to a FAQ on it from Wes' site. http://www.classicheartbeat.com/mark...t_gas_door.htm

A member who is inactive did that mod.It was the first I had seen.Tennman.I know he has lots of hobbies,Harleys,airplanes(experimental/homebuilt),and runs a tire business.Last I heard he was in the market for another truck project.I believe he did the write up on WES's site. There have been a few since then and they have probably refined it and made it easier. Here's a TTT to see if they respond.
