finally got the new rear end installed

It's been several months since my last post as this is my really busy time of year building pools and all the other service work that goes with my company.

Any way, on to the good stuff. Just a quick recap. I have a 350 vortec r motor out of a 1996 1500 truck with a turbo 350. Wouldn't have been bad but the truck had a straight six with 411 gears before the engine swap. Gas was killing me in my line of work (average 600 miles a week). Decided to swap to an Eaton posi with 308 gears. CHanged out all the bearings and had to get new axles while we were in there as one of the sides had worn a nice grove in the axle.

WOW, what a difference. The truck is more in the power range and feels faster, not to mention better fuel mileage and quiter in the cab.

now on to the body work, which will be easier as i've just picked up a 69 short step side with tons of parts on the truck usable and new panels the guy had bought alone with another whole cab. Sweet thing is the 69 has a title also!!!! I won't tell you what I stole it for, but here's a hint. It was under $500.
