Okay, so here it goes with the stupid question. Can a 2wd th350 tranny be made to work with a 205 from a 4wd th350 tranny?

I converted a 2wd th350 to a 4wd version.I did have a cracked 4wd th350 to use the shaft from though.The alternative is to use a divorced t-case,a 2wd tranny,and a small shaft in between connecting the 2.

My 72 Blazer had a "converted" 2wd Th350. All the PO did was hack off the end of the output shaft the same length as the 4wd unit. You could see the marks and discoloration from the chop saw. It works but it's kinda redneck.

Re: 2wd tranny to np205

I've heard of stories of the "good ol' days" when they used to cut the tail shaft down on a 4l60E to make it fit into an NP 205... but remember, that was the good ol days!
