I believe it's a thermaloid rapalater valve for a bud light

That is commonly refered to as "The Toilet bowl" Holley.. it came on Ford ""Y" (272, 292, 312) blocks in 1954 - 1956

Re: Whats this Carb off of ???

We called them "hat top Holley's". Seems I remember that some folks said they were prone to carb fires. I never had one of them, but they were thought to be a performance carb, at the time. Others said they're from the mid-50's, and they're right. My old '56 Merc had a Carter WCFB on it, and it was as trouble-free as they came. I remember folks with those Holleys fussing a bunch about them. But for those who need one for a resto, they're what counts.

There was a 255-horse 312 in '57 that had a Holley on it, but it was not that kind of Holley. That carb in the picture was used in '55 and '56, as I recall.

But I like the "thermaloid rapalater valve for a Bud Light" idea. Come to think of it, a Bud Light ain't too bad an idea...and I don't even need that valve to use one. It's a good thing, too, because if I had to have one, the BL's would be SOL.

Holley 4000 series. Affirmative on the old Ford Y-blocks. GMC used them too on 370 Olds V-8's in late-50's heavy duty trucks.
