Emblems:yes or no??
I've got a set of the 4-Wheel Drive emblems that go under the front sidemarker on the Chevy. Should I put the emblems on my GMC? I think they'd look pretty good and era-correct, I know they didn't come on trucks before 1969, but I think they'd look right at home on my truck.
Whats your opinion? |

Hey Jake, altho its a 70, my Jimmy has those "four wheel drive" emblems under the light on the front fender original. I think it would look fine on yours.

Re: Emblems:yes or no??
The 4 Wheel Drive emblems were 69-70 emblems only

Re: Emblems:yes or no??
Weren`t they 69/70 Chevy-only?Did GMC use them?Chevys dropped the badge in`71 when the engine badges took over the under light location.GMC never used engine badges.
I wouldn`t put them on.I just only like emblems that belong and if anything,I remove them to improve looks.

Re: Emblems:yes or no??
Well - that is one of those "*duh emblems". Then again, if it looks good, and your like it, then there's no harm. (If it enhances the looks).
*duh emblem - one that states the obvious. Just like a *duh sticker. *duh sticker - Chevrolet script across the back window with a Bowtie covering the back glass on a Silverado. ("Glad they told us - might of mistaken it for a Ferd".) Like I said, it's all personal preference - if you think it enhances looks, then go for it. My opinion - it's not needed. Clutter. I have no emblems at all on my truck though - so that wouldn't agree with some people either. DLB |
