? Jackson Gear Drive???
I just picked up a PETE JACKSON cam gear drive, It's new in the box. The ladies husband died and sold his GOODIES. She came across this in the back of the garage and brought it in to me. She wanted $50.00 for it. There is no directions, And the way it looks the marks don't line up in the conventional way. There is also a BALL BEARING cam bushing, and timing bushings. A good buy, but I have to figure which side the BIG idler gear goes on. I love the whine.
DOES anyone use one of these?? RON |

I just looked at some Polaroids of my engine when I built it......the larger gear goes toward the passenger side of the block.

What are some of the disadvantages of the gear drive, the guy at the edelbrock booth at the Route 66 event said that in some cases with the engine in the truck there is no way to set the button gap and that they can cause other failure from shock and take up some 30 or more hp to run. I like the idea of having one but don't want to make problems for myself. Ed ke6bnl
