I have been having a hell of a time getting an undamaged or un-scratched and or scraped up set of coated headers shipped to my house.

I ordered Hedman Elite Coated headers and either the headers rub together scraping off all the coating in one or two spots or they are scraped through the box. In either case the coating is completely scraped off to the bare steel.

Am I being unreasonable to expect my $360.00 coated headers to be 95% perfect when they arrive.

Most of the problem appears to be Hedmans packaging, and UPS abuse!

I beleive that this is a reasonable request. Fifteen years ago, I sent a set of used headers to Jet Hot Coatings to be coated. They arrived wrapped in plastic with spray foam blown in the box to prevent movement. They still look like new.

its really the best to get plain steel headers them mock them up to make sure they fit then have them coated locally//every set i've gotten done from the coater they deliver them wrapped and secure and what i feel is a better quality coating

Mine had one iddy biddy scratch on them, but not down to the steel

Airborne Coatings did really super with mine also. If yours are showing bare metal they will rust.
