New Carpet For 72 K5

Got my new carpet kit for the K5 and plan to install it myself. Where should I use the spray adhesive?
I was thinking about just using it on the wheel wells.
Also I have a couple of 7/16" bolt holes (where PO installed incorrect tire rack) that need to be plugged. Was looking at Auto Zone today, but didn't find anything to plug them with. I am missing the front chrome strip that holds carpet down behind bucket seats. Haven't been able to find one yet. Any recommendations on installing the carpet, how much glue to use, how to plug holes or what to use for chrome strip would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
