Talking Chevy/GM Master Parts Catalog 1971

First things first, it is exciting to find a group that has the knowledge, skills and abilities to put life back into these classic machines and also to share the "know-how" with the rest of us. I have been reading the threads on "how to" and will be following your leads. But before starting a project I like to gather as much info. as possible, plan, then execute. Been looking for a Chevy/GM Master Parts Catalog 1971 (cuz I have a '71 Blazer CST) to assist with restoration. I'm hooked. The next blazer project will be for fun in the mud. Anybody know where to find either a paper copy or a CD of a Chevy/GM Master Parts Catalog 1971? Thanks!

Re: Chevy/GM Master Parts Catalog 1971

Thanks special-K for the book numbers. knowing the the correct information is the best start. what is a dealer ordering book. Does it also provide part information? Have to replace all of the vent hoses, dryrot. Would you know what size bolt fits with the A/C Center vent? I got one from LMC and it has no thread pattern. Don't really know how it is supposed to fasten. I planned on tapping it and add a couple bolts. Can't pass inspection here in VA without the defrost working :-) Thanks.

The dealer order book is the other end,it gives option codes. The parts book is what you need.I`ve helped, and others with these books, alot of board members on this site with the part numbers to assure interchangeability and correct applications.Helps get the right part, too.

Re: Chevy/GM Master Parts Catalog 1971

Tim, thanks for your input. I found a four volume set on CD of Chevrolet/GM Restoration Parts for Chassis, Body, and Accessories for years 1946-1975 from Greg's Automotive (www.gregsonline.com) Santa Ynez, CA. I am still not clear on whcih PU I should be referencing. I was told that the K5 Blazer is a half ton and matches to the C10 PU. I have seen reference to the K series PU also. What is the correct answer, C10 or K series? thanks.
