Blazer tank ? will it fit?

I realize the topic may have been done to death, but has anyone put a 31 gal. blazer tank in their trucks? and if so does it hang too low for a lowered truck?

I have a decent 31 gal tank from my 88 Blazer and wanted to use it in my '69 lwb if possible.

If not - i'll just bite the bullet and buy one purpose built for the project. I just don't want to put a cell in the bed for the sake of my dirt bikes

I think it is like 28 gallon (but really is a 25?) I bought two from the surplus place that was linked from here a while back. They are from the newer style Blazer and fit right it, if your truck isn't slammed it will work fine.

Re: Blazer tank ? will it fit?

My Blazer tank is from a 85 full size Blazer and it hold 33 gallons when empty. I ran it out on purpose just to see how much it held. The older Blazer tanks are smaller. I think the one in my daughters 72 was about 17 gallons.

Re: Blazer tank ? will it fit?

I've got a '73 Suburban tank in my truck. I turned the filler tube 90* and it works great! I think it's about 25 gals, but I know one day I'm going to find out for sure- whether I intend to or not!
Somewhere in the middle of my write up you can see how I did it. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=181633
