heater blank off plates ....

I saw a couple of 64,65 trucks at the last show here, and they had no heater, and chrome blank plates covering the holes where the fan was bolted on the cowl, (the long skinny hole) and where it entered the cab (square 5 X 5) hole....

does anyone know where you can get these, or are they just custom made....

thanks

Chad

if your not sure what I mean, check out the pics from the Saginaw meet....
just not sure which one it was......

Re: heater blank off plates ....

Are the GMC ones different from Chevy? I've seen 1 or 2 but they don't look like anything I need......and they were $$$$$ 250.00!!!! Said they were show quality......yeah, right......

anyway, I may just end up making them myself, it shouldn't be to hard.....

Re: heater blank off plates ....

I think these plates were put in depending on the heater option that came with the truk. I have both on mine that originally came from a 62...the square one and the upper 'oval' plate..........dont need heat in AZ deserts.

That's exactly right. The trucks that came with the deluxe recirculating heater has the core and the fan and the whole shootin match inside the cab, the heater hoses go through the firewall. These came with the blank off plates.
