seat question......

Hey guys ...I know this has probably been asked a million times before..
I am wanting to buy some bucket seats out of a 99-2004 silverado for my 69truck. Am I going to need to do some major modifications.? Can I use the frame from my bench seat?( which I am probably going to have to chop) thanks

Re: seat question......

i have late model buckets in my truck. i just set them on the floor, i like the height. mine aren't bolted in yet, but you shouldn't have to do anything beside drill some holes. although using the bench seat frame is a good idea

Re: seat question......

Do the ones you want to use have the integrated seat belts? If so, you need to consider reinforcing your floor. There are a number of great threads on the board about the safety factor regarding that type of seat.

Re: seat question......

Clos 69, We're upgrading in parallel it seems. My interior's apart and I'm headed to the junkyard tomorrow to look at some late model power leather Tahoe bucket seats for my 69. Here's 2 pics of it now.

Re: seat question......

I've got them in my truck as well. It's an easy install but you need to do something with the floor. I reinforced the floor with angle iron. I love how they look and they are quite comfortable however, leg room is function of seat back angle. You give on one to gain on the other. I recommend shortening the steering column as well, find it on the FAQ thread, it might be a how to thread, but it's one of those and it makes a world of difference and will make the seats work much better in these short cabs. If you want pics, do a search for "just bought a project 67", that is my build thread.

Re: seat question......

Clos69, what'd you end up buying/mounting? (I still haven't located any yet.)

Also, when did GM/Chevy start with the integrated seatbelts?
