Re: door gap pics please

The gaps can surely be a pain if not impossible to get right, if they're right when the top is on they'll change when the top is taken off. The gaps on my truck on average are about 3/16 to a 1/4 of an inch with the top on. Sorry I don't have a closer shot to send you.

Re: door gap pics please

body mounts are new rancho's, the prev owner replaced them, I was just playing around with the floor jack and wouldnt you know it, Gaps started to move to where they needed to be. I just went to the hardware store for some huge washers to use as shims, I am thinking the po didnt put shims back in.

Re: door gap pics please

I'd bet you are right. I think you can still buy shims. Check with a local body shop to see if they have them since it sounds like you need to get it done asap.

Looks good to me for a 37 year old truck, you can struggle and shim and adjust more, but at some time you just have to say 'looks good to me'. You can always come back to it, if it bothers you too much.... JMHO

Nothing personal and I dont know what your going after....but it looks like there is still a good bit of work to do with those gaps. Have you tried moving the fender back any?

yes I did move the fender back, But with the factory side moulding that isnt on in the pics binds in the gap when the door is being opened.

Re: door gap pics please

i kinda looks like the rocker boxes are giving still. It the pics are telling the whole story and you only replaced half the outer rocker. there still is alot of rust or it has settled from being 37YEARS OLD or it just needs more shimming. Over all its not that bad, I would keep messing with it but its not as bad as it can be.
