Re: my truck is no longer my truck!!!!!!!!

When you put the HEI in did you rewire it or use the old coil wire? Just mess with it a bit longer. You might just figure it out..

Re: my truck is no longer my truck!!!!!!!!

well im calm now. i wont go into detail but today was a really BAD day and then that just tipped me over the edge. thank god he brought it back. lol i know whats wrong with it, the gas tank has something in it that gets sucked up and starves it for gas. i need a new tank, probably a fuel cell. well im going to bed, i hope tomorrows better (tomorrows my birthday).

Re: my truck is no longer my truck!!!!!!!!

don't let the truck win, no matter how many times it pisses you off. I know the idea of selling my truck has popped in my head numerous times. But I just sleep on it and change my mind the next day and work on it some more.

Happy b-day in 15 minutes.

Re: my truck is no longer my truck!!!!!!!!

I used to have a 1953 Chevy wagon. I got it for 1200.00 off of a guy who gave up on her. It too would starve and die out. New carb, fuel pump, then an electric fuel pump still died. I was told to boil the gas tank out, I did and the problem went away. I fixed her up, painted and chromed all I could. She looked and ran great.
One day while going to a car show she stalled right around the corner from my house . The gas gauge read 1/4 tank untill I taped it and it droped to empty. I Put some gas in and she fired right up,thats when I noticed my water pump was leaking. I had the same reaction " I AM DONE WITH YOU !!!"
I drove home and some guy asks me "Wanna sell her? " Yea sure man give me $3000.00. He came back with the cash an off she went. Man I miss her.
So whats the point of this rant ? Sleep on it, is it realy that big of a deal? We are dealing with old trucks that most likley were beat to death doing what they were made for ,WORK. Yea it can be frustrating ( I know I dont have to tell you that),but when some kid tells you nice truck, or some old timer tells you I used to have one just like that... thats a good feeling.
Think about how you would feel if you got rid of your truck, and seen one fixed up Just the way you had wanted yours ... trust me I hate seeing old 53 wagons.. it breaks my heart.

Re: my truck is no longer my truck!!!!!!!!

i completely understand what you just write sal i used to have a 69 chevy kingswood station wagon loved a lot but it haded to many details.
Once my wife blowout the engine and did not have any money to fixed (just married, baby daughter, not making enough $$$$$ etc ) well i parked her and wait until l have enough money to fix her. Then my brother in law comes and ask me if i would sell it to him obviously i said no and he tells me "listen why don't u sell it to me i will fixed it and latter when u are in a better position i sell it back to you"
who cant resist such a tenting offer so i said " if that its the case i wont sell it to you i give it to you thanks broo.
Great deal right !!! WRONG immediately after he haves the documents and the keys he sold it right away that mother f%^&*(.
i know what it feels to lost a car that u love in a moment of desperation so that its why i always said "THE THINGS THAT ARE WORTH IT U NEED TO WORK HARDER"
so don't give up if you love your truck get up and work harder because no one will do it for you
Fer.

Re: my truck is no longer my truck!!!!!!!!

Put it on Craigslist if you want to seal the deal. It will be gone fast & you'll never know where it went. Myself, keep it and save money to have someone remove the gremlins for you. Then concentrate on the things that wont drive you nuts.
