parking brake options

i need to hook up a parking brake for my 70 swb 2wd. I have nothing right now. is it easier to go with the stock set up, or can i pull something off of a later model at the u pull it and make it work? (Not many 67-72 left inthe junk yards up here, so i'd have to order all new parts)

Re: parking brake options

I don't know about the swb, but my lwb 3/4 ton has a really, really simple parking brake setup. I would just get OEM stuff if you can.

Re: parking brake options

I would stick with original, It's a simple setup, and will be less confussing to any future owners. And, honestly new OEM stuff is easier to work with than salvage parts, + the safety factor!

If you need help figuring out what you need I use the LMC catalog:

Good Luck
