WIW- 7 trucks for sale

I went and looked at 7 trucks for sale Saturday. 6 67-72, 2 SWB Chevy, 1 SNB GMC, 4 LWB, and 1 58 step. Titles for some, all have had some parts stripped from them, some with no motors, one SWB is good for only the bed from an accident. A lot of the stuff either has some rust, or needs straightening. If it was a stack of nice trucks I would have bought them all on the spot but I am kind of leary I could make enough to cover my time to part them out. Price works out to $400 per truck and it is all or none. I am on the fence on this one.

At $400 each seems high to me. If they had engines and trans, that would be worth it probably. J M O.

Re: WIW- 7 trucks for sale

I may have made it sound worse than they actually are. The are not completely robbed, or completely rusted out. Most are missing seats, and half don't have motors. Only one is wrecked. I had my camera but the battery was dead so no pics. 3 cabs are beyond what I would fix, All the beds are saveable with some work, none are rusted out.

Re: WIW- 7 trucks for sale

That’s nearly $3000 total. That’s a lot of parts to sell. I am not trying to talk you out of it, but just think twice about it. How much spare time do you have to work on selling the parts?

I did the same thing,(except I bought a few more than 7 ) thought it would be fun and I could make some extra money cash to fund my project. Now I have a field of trucks with no time to mess with them. But you might have more time to mess with them than I do.

Do a quick inventory of the sellable parts to see if it is worth your time and effort

I usually pay $100-200 for a truck if it has a v8 that i can sell for $300+

Re: WIW- 7 trucks for sale

I have done a quick inventory and that is the reason I have not jumped on it. The stuff is not as nice as I hoped. It has been 3 days since I looked a the stuff and the longer I take the less likely I will do the deal. I am kinda an impulse buyer when it comes to these deals

Thanks Randy, but be quiet, my wife may be listening. Sorry my monies are tied up at the moment (wife is between jobs) and son wants something that gets better gas mileage than his Camaro - so I have to be careful for now.

But hey Mike, that doesn't mean I wouldn't try to help you part them out.

The biggest issue is they are in Altus, which unless he want to bring them to me for free, I will have $600 in gas just to bring them home which I am not ready to do.

Re: WIW- 7 trucks for sale

Just keep an eye out locally for your these trucks, I know that they pop up al over the place and at over 3000 plus 600 for gas that's a lot of time and effort, unless there are a few trucks with super fast selling parts like the tow hooks, tilt, tach, and a few other hard to find pieces.
