Q Jest Refurb...whos the best?
I want to send my carb out to have it restored cosmetically and mechanically. Who does a quality rebuild of these carbs? I have an Edelbrock installed now but I want to put my factory carb back on this fall when I get the engine (402BB) rebuilt. Thanks for your help.

Re: Q Jest Refurb...whos the best?
I had SMI (Sean Murphy Induction) build mine for my 458 that has 10:1 comp, aggressive roller cam and possibly a small block carb. (I forgot what I took it off of!) The hesitation and erratic idle were gone, and driveability as well as full throttle power are great. It is the carb I sent him and it looks great.

Try this company. I am going to have them rebuild the carbs on my 69 Vette

I have a Holley Remanfactured Q-Jet that ran really great on my truck. Started right up every morning and had great power.
It was installed by the previous owner of the truck. I didn't even know Holley was remanufacturing Q-Jet's but whatever they did to this one, they did it right. |

I just take mine to a local benchwork shop. But,some of these places look like they`re worth checking out for a performance motor.

Re: Q Jest Refurb...whos the best?
I appreciate this info. I have been planning on fixing my truck up for a number of years but now that I have been selling off my antiques I am getting a war chest built up and I will be having the engine rebuilt this fall. That's why I want the carb done by a quality restorer. This is the year that my truck will start it's transformation into a new life.
