Re: Power steering

I used one of those conversion kits and it worked pretty good, on the 60-62 on the top right hand side thru bolt you might want to notch out the frame and add a half section of pipe to close it in, I dident and it seem's to work just fine. On the 63-66 you dont need to do that. Also what I did on the steering shaft, I cut the old rag joint off and pounded out the shaft, cut my shaft back to the appropriate length and tapered it to slide into the rag joint, then welded it around on the inside and out, also I used the front half of the rag joint off the powersteering unit. I ground the rivits off the old one to seperate it, the newer one bolts together.
I got the kit for 70.00$ and the powersteering components for 85.00$, it took me about 4 and a half hours to complete it. I think on the 63-66 it will go alot faster since the frame isnt boxed. If you have any questions I will try to answer them....

Re: Power steering

What kit did you use? Did you run into any problems ?
