1970 c30 stake bed dually questions

i took a peek at a 1970 1 ton dually stake bed the other day. it has a 350 with a manual 4spd. lots of new patch panels in (cab corners, rockers etc) it has some filler in door corners. anyways he wants 1200 for it. it has newer paint and looks and drives decent. tires are fine too. my questions are:

1) how much does this truck weigh?
2) what gear ratios comae in these dually rear ends?
3) does this sound too cheap to be true?
4) any problem spots to look for on these 1 tons?
5) it has a pintle hitch, and i want to find a standard hitch. will this rig with the standard hitch pull a car hauler with a 5500 pound tractor on it well?

sorry for the rambling, just felt it was best to hear from the experts on this one.....thanks

1) With the bed it should weigh around 3600 - 3800 if its a 133" wheelbase
2) They could have have 4.10, 4.56, 5.14, 5.38
3) sounds about right as 1 tons are popular with a lot of people
4) Smae areas as 1/2 and 3/4 tons
5) You should be able to pull that weight with no problem providing the engine is sound

I have had 4000-4500# big 70's cars with another car on the trailer behind my '69 C-30 numerous times. The biggest thing with the '70 has drum brakes like my '69 so allow for plenty of room for stopping!!

Re: 1970 c30 stake bed dually questions

With a 350 and 4.10's you should get around 10-12 MPG unloaded. My '69 C-30 car hauler gets about 10 with a 383, SM465 and a 4.10's but it weighs 8500# unloaded..
